When we’re helping with DNS changes, domain configuration, or email authentication, and you have your domains with Cloudflare, we might need access to your account. Rather than sharing your login details, Cloudflare lets you securely grant access using Cloudflare Roles and Invitations.

We ask clients to invite ben@restack.uk with a specific role that gives us the permissions we need... and nothing more.

Why You Should Invite USThrough Cloudflare

Sharing login credentials puts your account at risk. Using Cloudflare’s built-in access controls:

  • Keeps your email and password private

  • Lets you control exactly what we can and can’t do

  • Allows you to revoke access anytime

  • Provides a clear audit trail of who accessed what

This method is more secure, controllable and appropriate for business accounts.

Step-by-Step: Granting Us Access in Cloudflare

Follow the steps below to invite us to your Cloudflare account.

1. Sign In to Cloudflare

Go to https://dash.cloudflare.com and sign in with your Cloudflare login.

2. Go to “Members”

In the left-hand menu, select Account Home (if you aren’t taken there by default), then choose Members under your account settings.

3. Invite Us

Click Invite Members or Add Members.

You’ll see fields for an email address and permission level. Use this exactly:

Email: ben@restack.uk

Role: Select the role that matches the level of access we need (details below).

Which Role to Choose

The exact role depends on what you’re having us support.

Recommended Role: DNS Editor

This is the safest and most appropriate permission for most the work we need to do. With DNS Editor access, we can:

  • Add, remove and update DNS records

  • Configure CNAMEs, TXT records, MX records, etc

  • Support domain verification for email services

  • Configure Cloudflare-specific DNS features

But DNS Editor cannot:

  • Change your Cloudflare billing information

  • Add or remove other members

  • Delete your entire Cloudflare account

  • Change account-level settings

This ensures we have what we need, and nothing more.
